the corridor no. 2: Vera Drebusch – Brexit Fish

October 22nd – 27th, 2017

From October 22nd until 27th, 2017, Cologne-based artist Vera Drebusch investigated the Irish fish industry around the waters of Carlingford Lough on both sides of the Irish border. While fishing rights have been a big issue in the Brexit discussion, the local seafood businesses do business with the whole of Ireland and trade all around the globe; and marine animals obviously don’t care about human-induced borders.

Vera’s observations from the oyster farms and fish factories, her photographs and videos were presented at a private seafood dinner at The Vinegar Man, a local Pub in Dundalk and discussed together with creatives and other representatives of Dundalk’s cultural life.
